Jack Baus - Fire Chief, Menomonie Fire Department
Tour of the North Menomonie Fire Station

The Menomonie Fire Department (MFD) is a combination department staffed by 28 sworn full time members, one full time civilian, and 20 paid on call members.  Services are provided out of two fire stations.

In addition to fire suppression, we are a licensed Critical Care level paramedic service.  MFD is a State of Wisconsin Type III hazardous materials response team, and provides numerous technical rescue services including water rescue, confined space, high angle rope rescue, and structural collapse response.  Most recently, MFD has added a tactical rescue task force that is prepared to respond with law enforcement to active shooter incidents.  The Menomonie Fire Department is also a member of WI Task Force 1; several of our members are part of this elite team that receives specialized rescue training.  We have participated in deployments to Florida hurricanes, and southern Wisconsin flooding.

MFD provides the highest quality service protecting lives and property for the City of Menomonie, the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and nine surrounding communities with a population of approximately 37,000 people.
