The Menomonie Sunrise Rotary Club passed the gavel last week! A HUGE thank you to now Past President Brian Seguin for his hard work and dedication to our club during the 2023-2024 Rotary year. Brian passed the gavel to President Court Sand for the 2024-2025 year. Congrats!!

Deanna Schultz: UW Stout
The Menomonie Sunrise Rotary Club welcomed Deanna Schultz last week as the weekly presenter. Deanna is from from UW Stout and discussed the need for teachers, specifically Marketing and Business Education teachers who prepare students in career pathways. Thanks Deanna!

Menomonie Area Soccer
The Menomonie Sunrise Rotary Club welcomed the Menomonie Area Soccer group to our meeting today. They were awarded a Grant from the Menomonie Rotary Clubs. The money will go towards a Kick Wall at the soccer field located by the Middle School. Thank you for joining us this morning and congrats!

Lucas Chase: Mabel Tainter
The Menomonie Sunrise Rotary Club welcomed Lucas Chase, Executive Director at the Mabel Tainter this morning. The Mabel Tainter was a recipient of a Menomonie Rotary Clubs Grant. The Mabel Tainter hosts 4th Graders from the Menomonie Schools each year for a performance and this grant money will go towards that.

Dunn County Historical Society
The Menomonie Sunrise Rotary Club welcomed Melissa and Kyle from the Dunn County Historical Society this morning. They informed us of all the activities that are available at the Historical Society. They are also a recipient of a grant from the Rotary Clubs of Menomonie. Thanks Melissa and Kyle!

Stepping Stones
The Menomonie Sunrise Rotary Club welcomed Dana Neil from Stepping Stones this morning. Stepping Stones is one of the receipants of the Rotary Clubs of Menomonie Grants. Dana told us about the program that the money will go towards, which is the SAMS backpacks-a program that send food home with children for the weekend. Congrats!

Dr Joe Zydowsky
The Menomonie Sunrise Rotary Club welcomed Dr Joe Zydowsky this week. Dr Zydowsky is the SDMA District Administrator and a fellow Rotarian. Dr Zydowsky presented on the February 20th Referendum but also gave an update on the district. The Menomonie School District has 3290 students in 7 schools. 43% of these students are economically disadvantaged, 17.3% receive special education services and 4.5% are English language learners. Thank you Dr Zydowsky for speaking to our club!

Summit Academy
The Menomonie Sunrise Rotary Club welcomed Summit Academy as the speaker this morning. Lisa Traxler and Jennie Cimino (whose dad is a fellow Rotarian) spoke about the school opening in 2024. Summit Academy will be renting space from Cedarbrook church and is hoping to serve 150 students by 2029. They were just excepted as a Wisconsin Choice School which means children of qualifying families can attend for free. Thank you, Lisa and Jennie.

Phil Norvold-MaxBilt Offroad
A HUGE Thank you to Phil Norvold from Max-Bilt Off Road and Mfg for speaking to the Menomonie Sunrise Rotary club last week. Ellsworth Cheese
On September 28th, our club visited the new Menomonie location of Ellsworth Cheese Co. Eli Newton, Assistant Director of Operations was our tour guide. He provided an explanation of the cheese-making process, the equipment they use for this and the plan to increase their output in the near future. After the tour, we shopped in their outstanding retail store for wines, cheeses and other products available. Thanks, Eli for an excellent tour!

Kaitlyn Ingle-Dunn County Health Dept
The Menomonie Sunrise Rotary Club welcomed Kaitlin Ingle and KT Gallager as the speakers this morning. Kaitlin and KT work for the Dunn County Health Department and gave an overview of the services the department provides. Kaitlin is pictured with President Brian Seguin.
The Dunn County Health Department has an anonymous survey that is open until September 24th for adults in Dunn, Eau Claire, and Chippewa Counties. This survey is being conducted to better understand the Community Conditions that impact the health in these areas.

Aaron Libner
Aaron Libner, Board President of Fierce Freedom and Past President of the Eau Claire Rotary Club joined the Menomonie Sunrise Rotary Club this morning. Aaron talked about domestic sex trafficking. In the last year, over 100 traffic victims have been identified in our area. And every county in Wisconsin has reported sex trafficking. Thank you Aaron for joining us today.
